Men needed to get their legs out for charity
Date published: 21 October 2008
Brave men willing to show off their legs and have them waxed in full view of a pub full of customers are being urged to come forward and take part in a sponsored leg wax.
Children’s charity MedEquip4Kids is organising the men-only leg wax to raise money for the Children’s Unit at Rochdale Infirmary on Saturday 8 November from 3pm at The Dog and Partridge pub on Bury Road.
Each participant must pay a £5 registration fee and raise a minimum £50 in sponsorship.
MedEquip4Kids, which funds medical equipment for children’s wards and neo-natal units at hospitals across the North West, is looking for help to fund digital syringe pumps for the High Dependency Unit at Rochdale Infirmary.
The pumps administer medication to children in precise quantities and are needed to replace outdated equipment.
MedEquip4Kids Community Fundraiser, Rachel Allen, said: “We already have six men registered who believe they can handle the pain of having their legs waxed and still looking for brave volunteers to join them. If you think you can, or would like to nominate someone, then we want to hear from you!”
If you would like to take part in this 'hair-raising' event, contact Rachel on 0161 798 1600 or email Rachel.allen@medequip4kids.org.uk for more information.
