Upperbanks apartments hit Rightmove - with similar costs to Manchester city centre living
Date published: 05 January 2024
Manchester-based urbanbubble has been taken on to let and manage the 242 apartments, which are part of the £60m Upperbanks development
The new apartments at Upperbanks in Rochdale town centre are now available to rent – with advertised prices comparable to some of those in Manchester city centre.
The 242 Upperbanks apartments are being let by Manchester-based property developer urbanbubble, and are the only high-quality private rental accommodation of this size and scale in the borough.
Located next to the Hampton by Hilton Hotel, the development is steps away from the Rochdale Riverside retail and leisure complex in Rochdale town centre, which opened in 2020 as part of a wider £400m regeneration programme. It is also close to the Metrolink network and Rochdale train station, which operates six trains an hour into Manchester.
A studio flat at the Upperbanks complex is being advertised at £860 per month, with one bedroom flats for £1,000 and £1,150 per month.
Duo two-bed and two-bath apartments are listed for rent at a cost of £1,300 and £1,420 per month.
Each flat has a month’s rent as a deposit.
Although Manchester prices on Rightmove reach over £2,500 for a similar studio apartment in the city centre, comparable prices – at the time of writing – for a studio apartment in Deansgate, Spinningfields, the Northern Quarter and the Green Quarter typically range from £700-£1,150 per month – although many are listed with zero deposit.
For a similar duo apartment in the city centre, prices range from £1,025 to around £3,000.
The Upperbanks apartments also include residents’ services, concierge, housekeeping and maintenance, access to a communal landscaped courtyard plus two residents’ lounge spaces. They are also pet-friendly and 100mb broadband is included with the rental price.
A spokesperson for urbanbubble said: "We feel that Duo at Upperbanks provides a high-quality private rental offering unlike anything else available in the Rochdale market and is aimed to provide Rochdale residents with a new rental option.
"The bespoke furnished apartments have the added benefit of inclusive wifi, onsite resident amenity space, communal external space and an onsite team offering high-quality service, onsite maintenance, and resident events.
"In addition to this, the development offers long-term flexible tenancies, the ability to have pets and access to secure parking. We have already seen a high level of interest from local residents."
Apartments at Upperbanks are available to let from 1 February 2024 and are available either as furnished or unfurnished.
