Observer editorial director made redundant

The editorial director of the Manchester Evening's News' weekly newspapers, which includes the Rochdale Observer, has been made redundant.
Richard Catlow leaves the newspaper group's editorial team after 14 years service.
MEN media confirmed the decision in a statement yesterday (Monday 20 October).
The statement says that the move was made due to a recent re-organisation of the Weekly Newspapers' senior editorial management team and that Mr Catlow will leave the company on Friday 31 October.
The high profile loss of Mr Catlow follows on from news last month that five of the MEN's regional offices are to close, including those housing the Middleton Guardian and the Heywood Advertiser, which are now housed at the Observer's office on Drake Street.
