Date published: 23 November 2023

Newhouse Academy welcomed back former year 11 students to an awards ceremony on Thursday 9 November to formally recognise the successes of the year group.

Headteacher, Mr Alex Burnham spoke of the aspirations of the former year group. He congratulated them on their results, which through some challenging times, hard work and perseverance make Newhouse Academy the most improved academy from 2019 to 2023 within the borough of Rochdale. He also congratulated the prefect team who had worked hard during their year in office as mentors to the younger students and ambassadors of the school.

The awards were presented by the head of key stage 4, Miss Alex Derrington alongside head of year, Miss Megan Turner who praised her former year group.
