Man stabbed in Smallbridge

A 22-year old man has been arrested following a stabbing in Smallbridge yesterday (Sunday 19 October).
The attack occurred on Beal Crescent and police were on the scene shortly after 9pm to discover a 33-year old man with stab wounds to his back.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.
Detectives in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses to the stabbing.
Detective Inspector Daryl Chadwick, of Rochdale CID, said: "These types of attacks are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
"Anyone who carries a weapon, especially a knife, is clearly a danger to others and themselves.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the Beal Crescent area last night and who may have seen what happened to come forward."
