Three local pastors are calling for the churches of Rochdale to come together in a dedicated weekend of celebration, prayer and worship focussing on unity of the Church in Rochdale.
Andy McCulloch of Newbold Baptist Church, Prem Joseph of Champness Hall Fellowship and Fidele Bolton of Hebron Pentecostal Church urge churches to come together for one weekend in a show of solidarity and as a launch of more joint activities for Rochdale people in the future.
The three day event, from Friday 14 March, will see churches from across Rochdale meeting together in several joint-congregational services to encourage the churches to get to know each other better and promote opportunities to work together in the future.
The weekend will launch at Sandbrook School with an evening of celebration and prayer, before a seminar at Hebron Pentecostal on Saturday morning and church services at Champness Hall on the Sunday. There will be activities for children throughout the day on Sunday and chance to chat to other church members on a more social level.
The weekend will focus on Unity, based on a passage from the bible in 2 Chronicles 7 v 14, which says:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Associate Pastor at Newbold Baptist Church, Andy McCulloch said: “We are still very much in the early stages of bringing people from all different churches together for prayer and getting to know each other a little better. If we are going to believe God to do something extraordinary for this town of Rochdale, which is our overall goal, then we, as the Church, will need to come together in seeking Him.”
The events are as follows:
- Friday 14 March Sandbrook Primary School 7.30pm
- Saturday 15 March Hebron Pentecostal Church, Falinge 10.30am
- Sunday 16 March Morning Service and Children’s Activities Champness Hall 10.30am
