GCSE results 2023: Newhouse Academy have much to celebrate

GCSE Results Day at Newhouse Academy
Students and staff at Newhouse Academy are celebrating following the release of the GCSE grades.
The number of students with improved grades in English and Maths followed an uphill trend across the year group.
There were also outstanding results in many other subjects with Photography, Performing Arts, Spanish, French and Electronics results worthy of special mention.
Of particular note are the following students:
- Bradley Trickett, who achieved six Grade 9s in maths, further maths all three sciences and electronics, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6.
- Ben Harrison who achieved four Grade 9s in maths, further maths, physics and biology, three Grade 8s and two Grade 7s.
- James Pitts who achieved four Gade 9s in maths, further maths, physics and biology, three Grade 8s and two Grade 6s.
- Kevlin Leighton who achieved three Grade 9s in English, maths and physics, three Grade 8s, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6.
- Keira Baker who achieved Grade 9 in maths, five Grade 8s and three Grade 7s.
- Alison Ogunmwenka who showed the most progress since Year 7 and achieved two Grade 8s, three Grade 7s, three Grade 6s and Level 2 Distinction in performing arts.
Newhouse Academy’s headteacher, Mr Alex Burnham said: “With the emphasis on the ‘Our People’ high expectations agenda, we have seen some improvements across the school and in this year’s results. The hard work from our Year 11 students and dedicated staff has ensured that there is much to celebrate and be proud of.
“We are delighted with the progress that the school is making, excited about the potential of our current and future students, and are all working tirelessly to ensure that the school keeps moving forward and delivering the very best education.
“This week is all about celebrating the successes of our students and sharing their excitement, before the hard work starts again for everyone in September. We wish them every success with their futures.”
