Successful closure order on a house in Rochdale

Date published: 22 August 2023

The council’s community safety team working closely with partners and local community members has taken action following antisocial behaviour activity taking place at a property in the borough.

Manchester and Salford Magistrates court declared a partial closure order on the house in Rochdale last week.

Councillor Janet Emsley, deputy leader and cabinet member for equity, safety and reform said: “This is a great achievement for the community safety team as prostitution and drug dealing were taking place at the property. We are also pleased that the tenant will stay in the property, but they will not be allowed any visitors to the property who have been causing the antisocial behaviour as this will result in arrests being made.

“We want to thank all the neighbours who had provided statements, we are all delighted with the outcome.”
