Date published: 27 September 2007
Furrow Community School and just under two thousand homes were left without power this morning (Thursday 27 September).
United Utilities received a report at 7.40am and a spokesman for the utility company said: "It was quickly established that the power cut was due to a cable fault. 1969 customers were affected in the Langley Estate area including the Furrow community School Middleton. The team worked at its quickest pace and had everyone back up and running by 11.00am and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience it may have caused."
