Eva Field out litter picking
Heywood’s very own ‘Eva the Elf’ is leading a group litter pick in Queen’s Park on 31 May.
Eva Field began helping out in the community after being inspired by fundraising postman, Steven Kay, who co-founded local charitable group Restoring Hope.
She spends time each Friday litter picking in Queen’s Park after school, and is now hosting her own litter pick over half-term, which will be attended by the Mayor Mike Holly.
Her dad, Daniel Field, said: "We hope to see a great turnout. Our meeting point will be outside the café. Eva has been dedicated to litter picking in Queen’s Park and Heywood for several months now, driven by her strong desire to make a positive impact.
"Thanks to the support of Rochdale Council and the environmental management team, Eva has successfully organised this event. They will provide litter pickers and bag holders, although if anyone has their own equipment; it would be greatly appreciated."
Anyone wishing to take part should meet at the café at 10.30am on Wednesday 31 May.
