Villages Unite celebrates King's Coronation

The Coronation afternoon tea
An afternoon tea was held in celebration of the King's coronation by Villages Unite, Milnrow and Newhey.
The event was held at Butterworth Hall Community Centre on the afternoon of Bank Holiday Monday (8 May).
Councillor Irene Davidson opened with a speech and thanked all the volunteers for working hard to put this together for the elderly people who were home alone and unable to be able to take part in the celebrations.
A ceremonial speech by Kenneth Hall to toast the crowning of the new King Charles III with everyone saying loudly, "Long Live The King."
Fun and laughter were had all afternoon, with wine and a raffle.
Volunteers also served sandwiches and cakes, with cups of coffee and tea.
Everyone left smiling and in great spirits, and thanked all the volunteers for a very enjoyable afternoon.
