Fisherfield Childcare nurseries within the Rochdale and Bury boroughs have raised over £4,000 for the Rochdale and District branch of the RSPCA.
Money was raised by children, parents and staff throughout 2022, thanks to events like a luxury afternoon tea, Mother’s Day self-care and spa packages, nursery fayres, weekend stay and play sessions for children and parents, plus occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
Cherine Rasul, of Fisherfield Childcare, said: “We have so many exciting events and activities planned to take part throughout the remainder of the year and hopefully help us to raise even more money to help to continue to play a part in making a difference to the lives of all wildlife and animals within our community.”
Shirley Mellor, of the Rochdale and District RSPCA, said: “A massive thank you to the team at Fisherfield; we are over the moon with their continued support.
“The money makes a huge difference to our animal welfare work. We are humbled by the support especially at a time when lots of people are struggling financially.
“Animals, sadly, are often forgotten, so to receive this amazing donation means so much.
“Thank you also to the staff for organising the events and of course the parents for supporting the children in their activities.
“The animals in our care would shout out ‘thank you’ if they could.”
Fisherfield has been raising money for the local RSPCA branch since 2020, which was chosen as a cause after a vote was put to parents and children.
