Man cut free from vehicle after collision

A man had to be cut free from a vehicle after a collision in Rochdale on Sunday evening (12 March).
Two vehicles collided on Drake Street, near the junction with Castlemere Street, with one 36-year-old man being freed by firefighters.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 6.30pm last night (Sunday 12 March), four fire engines from Rochdale central and Ashton fire station were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Drake Street, Rochdale.
“Crews arrived quickly at scene and used a hose reel to make the area safe. Firefighters used cutting equipment and lighting to rescue a 36-year-old man from one of the vehicles who was then taken to hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.”
