Middleton bus knife thug jailed
Date published: 09 October 2008
The knife-wielding teenager who was ordered off a bus by a teacher in Rochdale has been sent to jail.
Adam Paul Taylor, 17, was today sent to prison for 12 months after he threatened children from Middleton Technology College with a knife as they were leaving school for the day.
He got on a bus full of children from the school and began slashing the knife around.
He was only stopped when brave head teacher Alice Crompton, 47, got on the bus and ordered Taylor off.
He was chased away but was picked up by police a short while later.
Taylor, of Grimshaw Lane, Middleton appeared at Rochdale Magistrates court earlier today and pleaded guilty to affray, possession of an offensive weapon and breaching an ASBO – which he did 33 times.
He was handed down the maximum sentence of 12 months that the bench could impose.
