The Littleborough MTB Rides group's annual Christmas ride
Mountain bikers from the Littleborough MTB Rides group donned festive apparel for their annual Christmas ride on Sunday (11 December).
The group was started in 2016 by Jayson Townsend, and the Christmas ride sees mountain bikers of all abilities aged between 15 and 65 ride between 10 and 25 miles. This year, 27 riders took part.
The ride usually sets off from the Wine Press at Hollingworth Lake, but this year set off from Littleborough Rugby Club.
Jayson said: “The numbers have built up year by year, even after the covid pandemic. We have about 250 members. I created the group when I needed to lose weight to try and get others of the same mentality to join in, and it’s just taken off from there.
“The annual Christmas ride had over 20 riders wearing tinsel and other crazy things.”
