What services would you like to see in the new Alkrington Hub?

Date published: 14 December 2022

A new community hub has been launched in Alkrington and Healthwatch Rochdale are asking local people what services they want to see in the hub.

The Alkrington community hub was created by Rochdale Borough Council to help reduce social isolation and improve residents physical and emotional wellbeing through providing needed support and services in one place.

Healthwatch Rochdale has launched a short survey asking what services people would like to see in the following categories:

  • children’s services
  • food
  • health
  • housing
  • leisure
  • money matters
  • social care
  • work skills and training
  • others

Kate Jones, Healthwatch Rochdale CEO, said: “As the independent voice for better health and social care services in the Rochdale borough we want to make sure the new Alkrington Hub is providing the correct support and services for local people. Only through telling us what you want can we make sure the correct services are provided. The Alkrington Hub is open to all from Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale and the Pennines so please share your views.”

Councillor Iftikhar Ahmed, Rochdale council’s cabinet member for adult care, said: “This innovative facility is at the heart of our prevention strategy, providing residents across the borough with a one stop shop of high class wellbeing services, available throughout the year, and this important piece of work will help develop and enhance services to reduce residents’ social isolation and improve their physical and emotional wellbeing.”

You can share your experience via the survey link here.
