Staff ready for awards
Date published: 07 October 2008
Last minute preparations are underway for the Customer Service Awards 2008 being held at the Town Hall on 20 October.
More than 240 council staff who have been nominated for an award are now keeping their fingers firmly crossed until the winners are announced during the annual presentation.
During the summer the search was on for examples of five star service from across the authority with residents and staff being asked to nominate individuals and teams who have given exceptional service, done something innovative or impressed in the way they carried out their duties.
Ann Wardle, Head of Customer Services at the council, said: “We’re looking for those who go that bit further and deliver a fantastic service. The Customer Service Awards acknowledge effort and ensure our individuals and teams are recognised.”
The event is part of National Customer Service Week, designed to raise awareness of customer care and quality service issues, whilst bringing fun to the workplace. The awards will be presented by the Mayor, Councillor Robin Parker.
