Dale boss opens new school pitches

Date published: 03 October 2008

Rochdale AFC management duo, Keith Hill and David Flitcroft, cut the ribbon to officially open Matthew Moss’ new half million pound astroturf pitches this afternoon (Friday 3 October).

Kids from primary schools in the area were the first to use the new pitches.

They were playing in a mini tournament in which the winner will go on to represent the area in a regional tournament.

As well as the new astroturf, three England standard netball courts have also been built.

It is not just young footballers that will benefit from the pitches, they can also be used for hockey and rugby.
