Rochdale internet service provider Zen Internet has donated £10,000 to a local award-winning social enterprise which works to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst older people.
This year Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Circle has been one of Zen's designated good causes along with Derian House and KYP.
Zen staff over the last 12 months have undertaken a series of fundraising activities, in particular a sponsored walk along the entire 84 miles of Hadrian's Wall.
The fundraising managed to raise an incredible £15,000 which was match funded by Zen Internet, meaning that £30,000 was divided between this year’s three good causes.
Circle Director, Mark Wynn along with Circle Special Projects Coordinator, Kim Ho were presented the cheque for £10,000 by Zen founder and Chairman, Richard Tang.
Supporting Richard on the day were Zen CEO Paul Stobart, Account Director David Howson and Billing & Credit Manager Karen Finnegan along with the Zen in the Community Team.
Mr Wynn said: "We can't thank the staff at Zen for their huge generosity and kindness.
“This massive donation will allow us to continue to subsidise membership of Circle and The Volunteer Drivers Service as well as keeping our Lunch Club-Club and Dinner Driver meals really affordable during these uncertain times.
“This money will also help us improve and develop our services and systems to deliver the best possible service to our members and those we support.”
