Honeymoon death groom flown home

Date published: 03 October 2008

The body of a Middleton man who died while on his honeymoon in Spain is being flown home today (Friday 3 October).

Steven Waddington was killed when he fell six floors from a hotel balcony in Benalmadena on the Costa del Sol on Saturday (27 September).

Steven married wife Sarah, 28, six weeks before they went away at the Bower Hotel in Oldham. The couple were living together on Cooper Fold in Middleton with Sarah's three-year old son and adopted teenage daughter.

An online memorial site has been set up by mourners to grieve Mr Waddington's death.

The page was started by Clare Lancaster, who said: "He was the happiest he had ever been and so in love with his beautiful wife Sarah and children Harry and Caragh.

"Steven was the one person that could make everybody feel special, he had time for everyone.

"He would light up the room when he walked in and just make everyone smile."
