Volunteer mentors wanted for Rochdale Connections Trust to support new cohort of young people in need of additional support

Date published: 28 September 2022

Local charity Rochdale Connections Trust (RCT) will soon be taking on a new cohort of young people who are in need of additional support in Rochdale and is looking for additional volunteer mentors to help offer them support.

Working in collaboration with the Youth Justice Service, Rochdale Connections Trust will be matching up the young people with volunteer mentors who will be trained and equipped with the skills to work with young people to promote positive changes in their behaviour, lifestyles and their mental health.

Mentors are currently working on other projects covering Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and the Pennines (Littleborough, Milnrow and Newhey).

RCT is also actively seeking new volunteers from all backgrounds and all walks of life who wish to work with young people, learn new skills and gain new experiences in a very rewarding role.

A free two-day training course next takes place on 24 and 25 October.

Rochdale Connections Trust was established in 1997 by a group of youth court magistrates, who had become increasingly concerned by the number of young people coming before them who had little or no family support.

Since then, RCT has evolved to include work with socially isolated adults and those with complex needs, whilst remaining highly committed to their original targeted youth support programme.

For more information on the role of a volunteer youth mentor please call Rochdale Connections Trust on 01706 345111 or email info@r-c-t.co.uk, or you can apply directly though the website.
