RBH sets out plans for new social housing at Phoenix Works in Middleton

Date published: 01 September 2022

New social housing could be on the way to Middleton as Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) work with partners Tyson Construction to develop proposals to build 20 new homes on the Phoenix Works site.

The plans would provide for 20 new two and three bedroom family homes with gardens and parking on Brookes Street, off Boarshaw Road. These would be available for shared ownership and rent-to-buy, with one adapted home available for affordable rent.

Clare Tostevin, RBH director of growth, said: "We’ve had great feedback from the community for our shared ownership homes in Hollin, and we’re excited to bring forward these new proposals to create more much-needed and high-quality affordable homes in Middleton.”

The RBH development team are keen to hear from the local community about the plans, and a consultation flyer has been distributed to nearby homes. More details are available on the RBH website at www.rbh.org.uk/phoenixworks.
