Rochdale special police constable charged with rape

A special police constable based in Rochdale has been charged with rape and suspended from duty.
Special constable Daniel Carson, 25, who was based within the Rochdale division, has been charged with rape in connection with an incident that occurred in December 2019.
Carson will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on 1 August 2022.
GMP confirmed that misconduct proceedings will recommence upon the conclusion of criminal proceedings.
