Nine youngsters from Rochdale have completed Groundwork Prince's Trust Team programme after going through 12 weeks of tough training and challenges.

Cliff Ellison, Executive Director of Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, who presented the certificates at the end of the programme said: "It is remarkable what each member of the Team has achieved over the last 12 weeks. They and their parents should be really proud."

Groundwork's Prince's Trust Team programme is aimed at helping 16-25 year olds get a head start in finding employment or further training.

Lisa Daly, Groundwork Prince's Trust Team Leader, said: "The young people that complete the scheme acquire valuable key skills, including Leadership, Communication, Problem Solving and Tolerance. In addition they receive nationally recognised qualifications in such things as First Aid and Food Hygiene and gain a City & Guilds Certificate in Personal, Teamwork and Community Skills."

The next Groundwork Prince's Trust Team starts in Rochdale on Monday 3 November at Spotland & Falinge Community Centre on Spotland Road. If you would like to join, or know of a young person that could benefit from the programme, please contact Lisa on 0161 624 1444 or 07739 978796.
