Morrisons supermarket donates to Rochdale Community Warehouse

Date published: 06 July 2022

The Community Warehouse Rochdale has received a bumper donation from Morrisons supermarket in Rochdale.

The donation was kindly offered from Morrisons Community Champion, Emma Pedgrift, when she recently attended the borough's Food Solution Network. The Food Solution Network consists of voluntary organisations, statutory bodies and Action Together working together to tackle the food crisis.

Rochdale Community Warehouse is a central distribution hub stocked with food and essential items and economic, health and wellbeing support resources for redistribution to voluntary sector groups. This allows smaller food providers to concentrate on supporting Rochdale borough residents so that no one in our local community has to go hungry.

The warehouse supports over 25 food banks, pantries, clubs and cupboards each week providing over 500 ambient food products to over 200 families and individuals.

A representative from Rochdale Community Warehouse said: "Morrisons’s kind donations will make a real difference in making our weekly picking and packing tasks easier and offering a continued service at the warehouse."
