The scene of the collision on Halifax Road
An 18-year-old man from Rochdale has been charged with four motoring offences after a fail-to-stop collision flipped a car on Wednesday (8 June).
Haider Hussain has been charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously; driving without insurance; using a vehicle on a road and failing to maintain lamps and reflectors in working order; and failing to stop a vehicle when requested.
Officers from the police transport unit requested the vehicle to stop, the driver initially pulled over and during checks, the driver appeared to be significantly younger than the insured person.
The driver decided to drive off and failed to stop for police. Several streets later, on Halifax Road, the car was involved in a collision with street furniture.
Fortunately, no-one was injured or other vehicles involved.
Hussain has been bailed to attend Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on 3 August 2022.
