Platinum jubilee event at St Andrew's, Dearnley
A Platinum Jubilee garden party at St Andrew's, Dearnley last Saturday (4 June) raised a magnificent £540 for church funds.
Admission was free, but the money was raised by the sale of refreshments, home-made produce, plants etc and the church bookstall.
Despite the fierce wind, the party was held outside in the church grounds.
Party-goers were entertained by Delph Band and by a choir from the Littleborough branch of the University of the Third Age.
Rev Rachel Battershell, vicar of St Andrew's, said: "We were blessed with the weather. There was a magnificent turn-out, everyone enjoyed the band and the choir and it was a great day all round.
"A big thank you to everyone involved especially those who turned up to enjoy the event and ended up working."
