Man rescued from Heywood flat fire

A Heywood man was led to safety by fire fighters after a blaze broke out at his flat on Meadow Close.
The fire started when a pan of food was left unattended and caught light.
Fire crews from Heywood and Bury stations attended the incident on Saturday evening at 5pm.
The blaze was put out using a hose reel and smoke was removed from the building using a positive pressure fan.
The 33-year old man refused medical treatment.
