Platinum jubilee celebrations at Deeplish Community Centre

Hundreds of local families attended a celebratory event at Deeplish Community Centre in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

All enjoyed many activities at the centre, including arts and crafts, mural painting, bunting making, bouncy castle, performance, doodle artistry, music, plus cultural refreshments.

There were many distinguished guests including Sir Tony Lloyd, MP for Rochdale, and newly elected local councillors.

These celebrations were organised in partnership with Breaking Barriers and Deeplish Community Centre.

Sohail Ahmad JP, operations manager, said: “This amazing event was an example of community celebration and networking to serve the purpose of rich culture, heritage and art.

“We were pleased to see so many people celebrating and connecting at this platinum jubilee celebrations, an example of rich culture, community and spirit.”
