To celebrate their fifth birthday, local cancer charity Maggie’s Oldham – which supports people affected by a cancer diagnosis in Oldham and Rochdale - is on the lookout for schools, colleges, and companies to go ‘Outrageously Orange’ and fundraise on 10 June.
Since opening the doors of the Sir Norman Stoller Building, built within the grounds of the Royal Oldham Hospital, in June 2017, Maggie’s has welcomed 36,000 visits from people with cancer and their families and friends.
The Maggie’s team focuses on the things that really make a difference, like help with stress and depression, managing side-effects, family support, helping with money worries and bereavement support.
Anyone wishing to support the charity is asked to wear orange on 10 June (or another date which works for you) and raise money for people affected by cancer: fancy dress at work or a school non-uniform day are ideal.
Trish Morgan, Centre Head at Maggie’s Oldham, said: “We want to celebrate our fifth birthday in style.
“We’ve loved seeing all the photos of people taking part from the last couple of years, and we want this year to be bigger and better than ever.”
If you or someone you know would be interested, Maggie’s would love to hear from you. Call Laura and Tom on 0161 989 0550 or email oldhamfundraising@maggies.org to get started.
