Date published: 24 April 2022

Twin bears/animals were also made by the group for Springhill Hospice
Heywood Library's Knit and Natter and Crochet Chatter Group have been busy making lots of amazing knitted and crocheted items for patients and their loved ones at Springhill Hospice and Bury Hospice.
In fact, they’ve been so busy that they need more wool! If you have any unused wool that you would like to donate to the group, please drop it off at Heywood Library during opening times, Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 9am-6pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9.30am-3pm.
Knitted twin hearts have been made for both hospices; the hearts are to give comfort to patients and their loved ones. One heart is given to the patient and the other heart is given to the patient's loved one; so that when apart they have the heart as a keepsake to feel connected together.

Twin bears/animals were also made by the group for Springhill Hospice which work in the same way.
Worry Monsters have been made for Bury Hospice's Sunflower Group which supports youngsters aged five to eleven. The Sunflower group helps youngster who have suffered a bereavement understand their feelings.
Children write down their worries on to a piece of paper and 'feed' their worry to their knitted Worry Monster friend.
Each month Heywood Library’s Knit and Natter and Crochet Chatter Group choose a local charity to make knitted items for.
New members are always welcome. If you would like to join the group, it meets every Friday 1pm-3pm in the Community Room at Heywood Library.
