People across the borough are asked to place a candle in the window for all those lost in the conflict or those who have and continue to be affected by it
Local residents are asked to show solidarity for the people of Ukraine this Easter Sunday (17 April) by lighting a candle.
For one hour from 8.30pm, people across the borough are asked to give ‘power to the people’ by turning the lights in their houses off and placing a candle in the window for all those lost in the conflict or those who have and continue to be affected by it.
Led by Rochdale AFC, the Rochdale Ukrainian Club has supported the initiative.
A spokesperson for Dale said: “We can only imagine what life is like for the people in Ukraine right now. Destruction on an unimaginable scale has led to many thousands of the population without energy, water and food.
“We hope Dale fans near and far and the good people of Rochdale get behind us and show their support.”
