Date published: 09 April 2022

A Precision Recruitment Group employee has raised hundreds of pounds for Andy’s Man Club after running the Therme Manchester Marathon.

Chris Elliott, labour manager at the Rochdale-based recruitment business, completed the 26.2-mile race on Sunday (3 April) in support of Andy’s Man Club, one of Precision’s charity partners.

After finishing the race in 03:57:42, Chris raised an impressive £600 for the men’s mental health charity.

Speaking about his experience, Chris said: “I did it! Taking part in the Manchester Marathon was a brilliant experience. It was my first marathon and there was great camaraderie and support amongst the runners taking part.”

“Although this was a personal challenge, it also provided me with a chance to raise money for Andy’s Man Club, who I believe do a superb job in their campaign supporting mental health and wellbeing.”

Andy’s Man Club is a men’s mental health charity that supports, empowers, and gives men the opportunity to talk about things that are affecting their mental health and wellbeing. The sessions are free to attend, and really work to challenge the stigma around men’s mental health. The club started out in Halifax and it’s since grown into a national venture.

There are two clubs in Rochdale: Mayfield Sports Centre and the Our Spot Community Hub at the Crown Oil Arena.

Andy’s Man Club runs every Monday from 7-9pm every Monday (except Bank Holidays) and is open to any male aged 18+.

If you would like to attend Andy’s Man Club, please email info@andysmanclub.co.uk or message the Facebook page.
