Sportman's dinner raises £1,000 for two local causes

Date published: 28 March 2022

A sportsman’s dinner at the Norden Bowling and Social Club earlier this month raised £1,000 for two local causes.

The evening of 12 March raised £500 for the Rochdale & District branch of the RSPCA as well as £500 for the neonatal intensive care unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

The speaker on the night was former Nottingham Forest and England midfielder Steve Hodge and the MC was Ollie Spencer.

Manager of RSPCA Rochdale, Shirley Mellor said: "Special thanks to all at Norden Bowling and Social Club, also to all the small local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle – and not forgetting everyone who attended on the night.

"We think you are all truly amazing."
