The group will walk from the Crown Oil Arena to Blackpool Tower
Rochdale AFC Military Veterans, Their4U Fundraising and Dale In The Community Sports Trust will be walking from Rochdale to Blackpool this weekend.
The team will be raising funds for military veterans in the Rochdale area with the 43-mile walk from the Crown Oil Arena to the famous Blackpool Tower on Saturday 19 March.
The team has already smashed its £1,000 target, which will go towards engaging veterans in different groups, sports, activities, days out and even help for any emergency equipment needed.
Adam Trennery, a former Royal Navy Engineer, and manager of Rochdale AFC Military Veterans, said that having reached the £1,000 target, the money would be "a massive help."
He added: "As military veterans ourselves, we believe in doing more for our community."
Donations can be made via GoFundMe.
