New Mind Wellbeing Centre and Café in Middleton

Date published: 11 March 2022

Rochdale and District Mind will open a new wellbeing centre and café on Wood Street in Middleton.

Mind had to close its old café in Middleton when the pandemic hit, using this time to develop the new wellbeing centre at a former bookmakers.

The café will open to the public on Monday (14 March) and provides vegetarian, vegan and Halal options for its breakfasts, lunches and smoothies.

The space has been transformed with a kitchen, seated café area, one-to-one rooms and a large group room, which will allow the charity to deliver its mental health and wellbeing support including one-to-one wellbeing sessions, listening lounge, dementia and carers activities, social cafés, cooking for wellbeing classes and self-help courses.

Zen Internet assisted with the move in addition to donating some computers whilst Dunelm donated shelving, plants and picture frames for the works created by the Art 4 Wellbeing group.

All profits made at the local Mind cafés go back into Rochdale and District Mind to enable it to continue its work.
