The Co-op at Cutgate
A local Co-op is looking for a food share partner to donate unsold food to at the end of each night.
The supermarket chain in Cutgate is appealing for a local cause to donate unsold food to each day, as part of the Co-op food share scheme.
Any not-for-profit group, which is committed to collecting food and using it to feed the local community, is eligible to apply, as long as they are also registered as a food premises with the local authority.
Cutgate Co-op’s team leader Tom Walton said: “I know the world is such a strange place at the moment and lots of people need help so I would absolutely love our store to help where we can.”
If you want to apply to this scheme, or know someone who would be suitable, visit www.coop.co.uk/environment/food-share/apply for more details.
