Residents in Greater Manchester will be offered the opportunity to reshape their careers through a new free government programme.
TRANSFORM is a free programme unique to those living in Greater Manchester, which focuses on supporting people to find careers in the further education sector.
Thanks in part to the £302,892 received from the government through the UK Community Renewal Fund, TRANSFORM provides a range of tailored support including employability assistance, a short placement in a place of further education and a level 3 qualification in education and training.
Joint Transform Programme co-leads Julia Richards and Melanie Sproston said; “We really want to help as many people as possible to take advantage of this exciting and innovative opportunity which provides individual and tailored support, and is completely unique to Greater Manchester.”
The programme stresses that you do not need a degree to start teaching in further education, while they also offer non-teaching roles such as work in human resources, IT and pastoral care.
To be eligible for the programme, you must:
- Have recently been made redundant, or are at threat of redundancy
- Be unemployed
- Have retired early or are about to take early retirement
- Be a recent graduate without work
- Be economically inactive but feel ready to take on employment again
Anyone unsure about their eligibility and require further information should visit www.transformprogramme.org, email enquiries@transformprogramme.org or call 0333 090 5380.
