Date published: 16 February 2022

Beech House School recently played host to a former Commonwealth Games para-powerlifter Sean Gaffney.

Gaffney, who competed in his first Commonwealth Games in 2018 for Team Wales, spent the morning putting the Senior and Upper Prep pupils through their paces before giving a motivational talk.

The 49-year-old also won an incredible four medals at the 2016 Invictus Games, including golds in powerlifting and one minute rowing. He was even invited to join Prince Harry for the sitting volleyball finals at the Orlando event.

School principal Kevin Sartain said the school was “delighted” with the visit.
