The Willows staff rewarded for their efforts

Date published: 23 December 2021

Two hardworking members of staff at The Willows Dementia Hub have been rewarded for their efforts.

Michael Fenton and Anthony Flynn have both been awarded an accolade for their work at the Willows.

Michael has received a shining star award from the Springhill Hospice palliative care team for his hard work on the course.

Michael was selected out of all the attendees across the Rochdale borough, and the hospice came to the willows to award him his trophy in a surprise ceremony.

The Springhill Hospice team commented that his ‘passion shone through in his work, and his portfolio was amazingly referenced and a pleasure to mark.'

Anthony was presented with a level 4 thriving award by Rochdale in Bloom for his work on the Willows’ gardens.

He has created a rainbow garden full of wildflowers, plus a courtyard which is enjoyed by both residents and visitors to the Woodlands Café.

There is also a community garden which is an area for residents to work on and enjoy, growing vegetables and flowers and enjoying the great outdoors.

The Willows’ Danielle Dutton said: “We are very proud of them both.”
