A Christmas message from Chris Clarkson, MP for Heywood and Middleton.
This year has seen plenty of challenges as we work to combat the pandemic.
I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to try and return life to normal. From frontline NHS staff to the retail workers who kept shops open and the teachers and support staff at schools who have done so much to help young people catch up on lost learning.
I can’t pretend that some of the decisions we’ve had to make have been easy, or popular, but my priority has always been the welfare of the people in our communities.
So, this Christmas, I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone across Heywood, Middleton, Bamford, Castleton and Norden for looking after each other so well - I couldn’t be prouder to be your representative in Parliament.
Stay safe, enjoy the festive period, and let me wish you all the best for a better 2022.
