Two Oldham men charged after taxi driver assault on Queensway

Two Oldham men have been charged with assault after a taxi driver was left in a critical condition during the early hours of Saturday morning (30 October).
Connor McPartland, 20, has been charged with section 18 assault and possession of bladed article, whilst Martin Treacy, 18, has been charged with section 18 assault.
Both men have been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday 1 November 2021.
Shortly before 5am yesterday (Saturday 30 October) officers were called to a report of an assault along Queensway in Rochdale.

Police arrived and enquiries established that a taxi driver - a man in his 30s - had been assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
