Harriet, Harry and the Pirates at Queen’s Park
Families were treated to a swashbuckling performance of ‘Harriert, Harry and the Pirates’ on the newly-refurbished band stand in Queen’s Park, Heywood, earlier this month.
The family-friendly outdoor theatre show, produced by award-winning theatre company Death By Pie, features Harriet Pippin – who would definitely win an award for ‘Least Likely to be a Pirate’.
Yet, somehow, little Harriet has managed to get aboard not just one, but two pirate ships. Harriet is tasked to find the treasure, stop two rival pirate gangs from fighting each other - and still get home in time for her mum’s beef stew!
Children of all ages, dressed as pirates, enjoyed the show, which was filled with live, original music and slapstick comedy.
The event was hosted by the Friends of Queen’s Park and funded by the Arts Council.
