Date published: 26 August 2021

Pakistan Independence Day was marked in Rochdale with a community celebration at Spotland Community Centre on 14 August.

Pakistan Independence Day commemorates the declaration of Pakistan as a sovereign nation, following the end of the British Raj in 1947 and is a national holiday in Pakistan. It takes place each year on 14 August.

This year's celebratory event was very well attended with stalls selling cupcakes, henna art, face painting, and food and drink.
