MEP campaigner in court for racist abuse

A campaigner for Rochdale's MEP Chris Davies has appeared in court charged with racially abusing a police officer.
Christian Walker is employed by Mr Davies as a member of his campaign staff and is also a Stockport Councillor. The 34 year-old is facing a section five public order offence after he abused the officer at a supermarket in Portwood.
Mr Walker pleaded not guilty to the offence and has been bailed until another hearing takes place on 6 October.
