A welcome donation: Christine Webb, Chief Executive of Springhill Hospice (back left) and Mayor Councillor Robin Parker receive cheques from Impact athletes Nigel Muirhead, Zak al-Hassani, Zoe Banister, Eileen Jorgensen, Steve Woods, Aky Hussein and Amir Zia.
A team of runners from the Impact Partnership met the Mayor this afternoon to present him with cheques in aid of his chosen charities for this year.
The athletes recently took part in the Rochdale 10k race and raised more than £1400 for Springhill Hospice and the British Heart Foundation.
Christine Webb, Chief Executive of Springhill Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that the running team from the Impact Partnership decided to support Springhill Hospice. We rely on voluntary contributions in order to keep our doors open, and all funds raised make a huge difference in ensuring we can continue to care for patients and their families.”
Mayor Councillor Robin Parker said: “The Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal is dedicated to supporting two charities which are both close to my heart - Springhill Hospice and the British Heart Foundation. I’m very grateful to the team from Impact for running.”
