Ashworth View Nursery send goodies to residents of Beechwood Lodge

Date published: 12 April 2021

Thoughtful children at Ashworth View Nursery sent a basket of cards and goodies to residents of Beechwood Lodge in Norden.

The 30 preschool children made the gifts for the National Day of Reflection on 23 March 2021, after partnering with Beechwood, in order to do something special to mark the occasion.

After a discussion with the children about how people can be kind to one another, the youngsters decided they wanted to make greetings cards and give flowers and chocolate biscuits so Beechwood residents could enjoy them with a cup of tea.

The gifts were given on the Day of Reflection – with Beechwood returning a similar gift to the thoughtful children on 31 March.

Residents sent handmade Easter cards, a thank you card from staff, biscuits and some plastic eggs with little chocolate bunnies inside.

Katrina Buckland from Ashworth View said: “We wanted to make people smile after the past year, and we thought this was a lovely way to do this. The children took great pleasure in creating the special gift and were absolutely thrilled when they learnt that the residents had also sent a present back to them.

“Beechwood sent some beautiful handmade Easter cards made by the residents, a thank you card from the staff,  some biscuits and some plastic eggs with little chocolate bunnies in.

“The children loved them.”
