Man arrested following Wardleworth fire

A 34-year old man from Bury has been arresed on suspicion of arson with the intent to endanger life after a car was deliberately set on fire in Wardleworth on Wednesday (10 September).
The fire was started at around 3.30am, when the engine of the car was set alight on a driveway at a property in Wellington Street.
By the time fire crews arrived the fire had spread to a nearby extension of the house, causing heat and smoke damage to a window and guttering.
The blaze was tackled using a hose reel, breathing apparatus and a positive pressure fan.
The arrested man has been bailed until Wednesday 26 November 2008.
Police inquiries into the incident are continuing.
