Woman threatened after Milnrow car chase
Date published: 12 September 2008
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was chased in her car by a man in Milnrow until she was forced to stop. The man head-butted the driver's window and threatened her when he couldn't get into the woman's car.
The 56-year-old woman was driving down Sir Isaac Newton Way on Monday 1 September when a man in a white Ford Escort van started to follow her in a dangerous manner, over-taking her and causing her to stop suddenly on Elizabethan Way.
The offender approached her black Audi Cabriolet and when he couldn't get in, he threatened her and head-butted the driver's window. He then got back into his van and then continued to follow her into the centre of Milnrow until she turned off near to the doctor's surgery and he drove off back towards the motorway.
The offender is described as a white, stocky man in his late 30s with a plaster over his nose. He had black hair and was wearing a brown t-shirt.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and call 0161 856 8575 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
