Baseball bat used in Middleton scrap

A man was hospitalised suffering head injuries after being hit with a baseball bat during a fight in Middleton.
The incident occured before 6.20pm on Wednesday (10 September) when police were called to Windermere Road following reports of a disturbance between a group of men.
It is believed the men went to a taxi firm on Windermere Road armed with the baseball bat and an argument broke out with another man.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not thought to be life threatening.
A 34-year-old man from Bury was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until Wednesday 26 November pending further inquiries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
